Teen Connection
Being a teen is difficult! You're faced with critical decisions during these tumultuous years. Do you become sexually active? Do you experiment with drugs or alcohol? Do you complete high school or drop out? What about college?

There are dozens of decisions you need to make and making the right choice is vital as it may affect the rest of your life.

Teen Connection guides teens by offering comprehensive programs that promote family life skills, career development, male responsibility, and health education.  It also targets high-risk, sexually active youth and provides educational services to increase their knowledge of teen pregnancy prevention, infection of HIV / AIDS / Sexually Transmitted Infections (STI's), domestic and community violence, and alcohol and substance abuse.

A component to the Teen Connection Program is the Baby Think It Over Program.  This program is a parent awareness class for young people who might believe that having a baby is easy.  Baby Think It Over™ is a curricula-based program that gives 12 - 14 year-old girls and boys, a simulated baby they must take care of for a weekend.  The lifelike, life-size baby doll is programmed to cry at random, yet realistic intervals, 24 hours a day; all while an internal computer records the participants' interactions with the baby including neglect, diaper changes, and rough handling, etc.  The Fresno Police Activities League (PAL) works in partnership with Teen Connection and provides all students with strollers, baby clothes, transportation, and diaper bags.
