MSP's goal is to increase the number of men over the age of 25 who receive reproductive health care clinical services and to provide reproductive health education in the community. Additionally, the MSP strives to provide men with direct clinical services at EOC's Health Services Clinic and help them better understand their reproductive health care needs.
EOC's Health Services Clinic offers men of reproductive age confidential comprehensive services including:
- Physical Exams (to prevent testicular cancer)
- HIV testing and counseling
- Sexually Transmitted Infection (STI) testing and treatment
- Counseling on sterilization and referral for services as needed
- Preconception counseling
- Contraceptive counseling and supplies
- Enrollment into Family PACT program to assist with payment for reproductive health care services
Moreover, the Male Services Program hosts various educational activities that raise men's awareness and involvement in their health care. The program informs the community about the importance and availability of reproductive health services at EOC's Health Services Clinic.
MSP also focuses on promoting access to health care for migrant and seasonal agricultural workers of childbearing age. The program is culturally sensitive to the population being served and has been successful in increasing the awareness of available men's services to individuals whose primary languages are Laotian, Mixteco and Spanish.
