Participants of the program work toward their diploma or GED while learning job skills by building or refurbishing low-income houses, performing landscaping, community clean-up, and more.
YouthBuild Fresno provides:
- Quality, hands-on construction training
- Classroom instruction leading to a high school diploma
- Vocational computer training
- Up to $4,700 awarded to be used for continuing education
- Opportunities to improve your community
- Supportive services
- Assistance in finding and keeping a job
- Opportunities for leadership development
YouthBuild Fresno also offers adults the opportunity to give back to Fresno County youth by becoming a Journal of Bridges (JOBs) Career Coach for YouthBuild Fresno trainees. Volunteers guide young adults on their path to success.

Eligibility:
YouthBuild Fresno participants must:
- be 18-24 years old
- be in need of their high school diploma or GED
- be interested in learning job skills
- be able to commit to a 12-month, full-time program
- be motivated to succeed
- provide required documentation to determine eligibility
- be an active participant in group activities and events
- be willing and able to attend a non-paid orientation
JOBs volunteers must:
- make a 6-month commitment
- meet with young adults once a month in your workplace/organization
- attend 4 out of 6 monthly activities
- participate in weekly email/phone correspondence
